As the inevitable announcement of Apple’s next tablet creeps up on us, more and more rumors keep rolling in. The latest? A new processor and updated camera. The usual fare. Not too exciting (like most of Apple’s product line updates).
According to IntoMobile.com, “a Chinese website called WeiPhone… managed to get a photo of what’s supposedly going to be the iPad 3 motherboard. On said motherboard is a massive chip labeled A5X, as in the successor to the A5 that’s currently inside the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.”
Considering this isn’t named the “A6” chip, it may not be as much of a leap into terms of power as was the jump from the A4 to the A5. This wil mean, however, that the jailbreak community will have more work on their hands if their going to want to open up iOS on Apple’s yet to be announced device.
Regarding the camera, rumor has it that it will have an 8 megapixel sensor. And likely and similarly crappy lens.
Apple may have something up its sleeve to really motivate consumers to purchase the new rendition of the iPad, but don’t expect to see it in the hardware.
