BONUS Episode: The Avengers and Marvel Movies

We go into the vault and pull out a past episode. We reviewed the Marvel movies back in May before we we became just a straight up movie discussion podcast. Since the The Avengers just came out on Blu-Ray we thought we’d post this past episode up so those who missed it the first time could get a chance to listen. Also, we want to apologize in advance for the air conditioner fan you can slightly hear in the background throughout the whole thing; we blame Orin. Be warned this is a SPOILER discussion of all six movies. Things Are Changing

Hello fans and visitors!

The DinoRobo crew wants to inform you that starting July 23, 2012 when our next show goes up the show format will be different. Episode 11 will kick off our new format as a strictly movies related podcast. We are starting off with “The Dark Knight” saga covering all three Nolan Batman films. Each month we will choose a few movies to discuss and review; sometimes new movies, sometimes not so new movies. We are happy to take in suggestions as to which movies we discuss, so feel free to contact us anytime.

Be aware that July 30, 2012 we will be deleting all previous episodes of the podcast prior to Episode 11, so if you want to hold onto them you better download them ASAP. Also, we will no longer regularly blog, the homepage feed will now mostly service posting the latest episodes and sometimes updates/announcements like this one. However, none of the previous posts will be deleted.

We want to thank all our listeners who stick with us through this transition, we hope you keep enjoying the show and other new developments to come.

With excitment,
Orin, Dom, Ty, and Chris

Nintendo 3DS XL Arrives in North America August 19th

Can’t say we didn’t see that coming. But where’s the 3DSi? I’m sure that’s on its way, too.

Nintendo’s formula, like Apple’s, rarely disappoints. Since the Game Boy Advance days, we’ve come to expect at least three iterations of Nintendo’s handhelds per generation, and the 3DS XL will be the first redesign of the 3DS to hit store shelves.

Set to release July 28th in Japan and August 19th in the U.S., the 3DS XL will be cheaper than I had anticipated! Set at $199, this portable will tote a 4.88-inch 3D screen on top and a 4.18-inch lower touchscreen. As for the resolution of each, the 3D panel will have a 240×800 resolution and the touch panel will have a 240×320 resolution. Unfortunately, the resolution on both sounds inadequate, but will have to see it in person before we rule it out. Continue reading →

Portal: Terminal Velocity

Other than the acting, this video is awesome. By Jason Craft. Using 3D tracking, seamless camera cuts and 3D camera projection…

“I tried to match the game as close as possible. This was the most challenging project I have ever undertaken, consisting of 3D tracking, seamless camera cuts and 3D camera projection.”
